Petites boîtes
Carton
5 x 15cm
Instructions:
- Place one of the fabrics face down on a table in front of you. Position the box for your Easter basket in the center of the fabric and draw the outline of the box on the fabric with tailor's chalk.
- Take the box in your hand and apply the textile glue to the outer bottom of the box. Then place the box on the marked spot on the fabric.
- Tip: To avoid glue marks being visible on the fabric, spread the glue beforehand with a sponge or brush.
- Now the sides of the basket will be covered with fabric. Position the box so that you are looking at one side. Cut the fabric to the height of the two outer edges up to the box. You will get a strip of fabric that is exactly the width of the box side that is facing you. Apply fabric glue to the box and attach the fabric strip to the basket. Fold the fabric inward at the top edge and glue it inside the box as well. Repeat this for the other three sides.
- Tip: For a nicer result, you can create hems at the edges. To do this, cut the fabric strips 1-2cm wider than the outer sides of the box and fold the part inward. This will give you a straight edge.
- The first part of your Easter basket is ready. Now let's make the handle of the basket. Use the paper strip as a pattern and cut a strip from your chosen fabric with an allowance of 2.5cm on the long sides.
- Apply textile glue to the paper strip and cover it all around with fabric.
- The handle is now ready and will be attached to the basket. Place the handle at your desired location on the Easter basket and staple it there. If you don't have a stapler, you can also sew the handle on with a needle and thread.
- Place the rest of your fabric at the bottom of the Easter basket so that it looks nice from the inside as well. Now you can also decorate the Easter basket with Easter clips, ribbons, or the printed Easter motifs. You can download the Easter motifs above as a craft template. Your children will surely help with the crafting and enjoy cutting out and coloring the motifs.
